After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1989, he started his specialization and doctoral education program in the Department of Orthodontics at Harvard University in the USA as a scholarship student of the Ministry of National Education. He completed his doctorate in 1994 and with his thesis, he won the best research “Thomas Graber Special Merit Award” given by the American Orthodontic Society. After completing his doctorate, he was appointed by YÖK to Marmara University Orthodontics Department as a lecturer. After receiving the title of associate professor in 2002, he served as the clinical director of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Connecticut until 2005 in the USA. He then began his career as a part-time faculty member at Harvard University. He serves his patients in his private practice in Istanbul and teaches graduate and doctoral students at Harvard University in Boston. Ahmet Keleş has many patents. Self-developed “Keles Keyless Expander”, “Keles Slider” and “Keles Face Mask” inventions are widely used in the United States. Keles developed the Keyless Expander with his son Eren Keleş. He gives many courses and seminars in orthodontics and has more than 50 scientific publications. He was the editor of the summary and evaluation of the World Journal of Orthodontics. He is currently the Vice President of the Harvard Orthodontic Alumni Association. He is married and has two children.
